Mr. Chanani has over ten years experience in management, principal investing, and commercial real estate.
Prior to USA EPC, Mr. Chanani began his career in 2004 as a director at Chanani Holdings where he revitalized two family-owned troubled hotels. Concerned about the hotel sector’s sensitivity to macro-economic challenges, he diversified into the retail sector and grew the asset base into a $25M+ mini-conglomerate, doubling the asset size and profitability in two years. He directed a staff of 75 and introduced performance-based pay, transforming the operations into a successful, diversified and professionally run group.
Serving concurrently in the US Army National Guard, Mr. Chanani served as the unit Commander of 21 Soldiers and 18 non-commissioned officers in Iraq during 2006-2007, where he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, leaving as an Army Captain to attend the Wharton School of Business.
At Wharton, Mr. Chanani worked with the Bernstein Companies, a major regional real estate investment firm, in Washington D.C. and subsequently for Pacific Coast Capital Partners, a Los Angeles based private equity fund manager and portfolio lender with over $6B in assets under management.
Mr. Chanani received his M.B.A. from the Wharton School, and his B.A. in economics from Cornell University. Mr. Chanani is a member of the Urban Land Institute, a licensed California broker, and a frequent author/speaker in the investment arena. He is also a FAA licensed private pilot and frequent traveler having been to over fifty countries.
F. EDWARD REYNOLDS, JR.
Construction Project Management
Mr. Reynolds has held positions of significant responsibility in several companies. Today, his primary responsibility is managing the entire operations, marketing, finance, and human resources as CEO of a multi-disciplinary environmental consulting and construction company that performs approximately 200 projects per year. For 25 years, Mr. Reynolds has provided professional oversight as the lead Registered California Civil Engineer and Responsible Managing Officer for The Reynolds Group’s contractor’s licenses.
In his technical capacity, Mr. Reynolds develops case specific strategies and design, approves, and reviews many work plans and technical reports that the company produces. Mr. Reynolds is proficient in complicated subsurface investigations, remediation, and operations and maintenance (O&M) of active remediation systems. Soil and groundwater assessments range from shallow soil gas surveys for chlorinated compounds to installation of deep groundwater well networks. His remediation experience has included air sparging, dual phase extraction, vapor extraction, groundwater pump and treat,
chemical injection, excavation and bioremediation of many different chemicals. TRG has obtained regulatory closures on hundreds of environmentally impaired properties. Mr. Reynolds leads the company in aggressively moving projects to closure while maintaining a good working relationship with the regulatory agencies. Mr. Reynolds is also responsible for pricing and executing contract related construction and O&M work.
Mr. Reynolds was President and co-founder of TRG Mexico, S de RL a company based in Mexico City that provides the same services as The Reynolds Group to major industrial and real estate companies throughout Mexico and Latin America. Mr. Reynolds and his partner sold the firm on December 30, 2010.
Mr. Reynolds working his former Professor Joe Devinny (now retired at USC) also cofounded TRG Biofilter, a company that specialized in manufacturing an air pollution control technology called biofiltration. Biofilters treat contaminated air biologically. Mr. Reynolds co-hosted, with the University of Southern California, an annual international conference on biofiltration.
Mr. Reynolds completed service as a board investor proxy on a venture capital fund (the North American Environmental Fund run by Ventana Global) that invested in Mexican-American environmental venture opportunities. Mr. Reynolds personally advised the NAEF on a number of equity investments and divestitures. Mr. Reynolds represented Consolidated Contractors Company’s (the largest middle eastern construction company based in Greece) investment arm.
Prior to co-founding The Reynolds Group, Mr. Reynolds was General Manager of Applied GeoSciences, Inc., an environmental consulting firm. Mr. Reynolds reported to the two founders and was responsible for implementing projects, company cost accounting and financial controls, designing and overseeing the human resource department, and assisting project managers with difficult, high profile “work out” projects. The company grew from 15 to over 100 people during Mr. Reynolds tenure without outside financing.
Prior experience also included ENR 500 Companies, Brown & Root (marine design and construction) and Bechtel Corporation (project financing) in Mr. Reynolds early professional years.
Mr. Reynolds participates in the University of Southern California’s (USC’s) Viterbi School of Engineering’s Board of Councilors. For many years he participated and then was elected Chairman of USCs Sonny Astani Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering’s Industrial Advisory Committee.
Mr. Reynolds also teaches in the University of Southern California where his class called “Construction Accounting and Finance” is one of the highest rated class in the Graduate Program of the School of Engineering.
Mr. Reynolds serves on the Construction Board of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange at the pleasure of the Roman Catholic Bishop. From 2006 to 2013, Mr. Reynolds served on the Board of Directors of USA Water Polo, Inc. where he was part of a management team that turned a bankrupt corporation into a highly effective performing non-profit that won a Gold Medal in the London Olympics. He formerly served on the Board of Trustees of Bosco Tech High School in Rosemead, CA. He is currently a Board Member of the Tustin Community Foundation.
Mr. Fuan brings to USA-EPC Group more than a decade and a half of hands on work experience and advanced technical knowledge of environmental issues involved with soil, water and air contamination. Mr. Fuan routinely designs, supervises and performs environmental site assessments. Mr. Fuan oversees the pilot testing design, engineering, construction, installation and operation of active remediation systems. He is a versatile engineer with a background in hydrogeology whose assessment, strategic planning, tactical skills and visualization skills serve clients well. Mr. Fuan is responsible for and proficient at scheduling, coordinating, and implementing projects of different scales. He remains current about regulations and interacts with government authorities on behalf of The Reynolds Group and its clients. Mr. Fuan has been responsible for interpretation of complicated hydrogeological data and conceiving and implementing Remedial Action Plans.
